24 MAR IMPORTANT UPDATE

I hope you are keeping safe and well in these unprecedented times. This is a quick update on life here at Jo Hill Textiles HQ.

Website orders

All website orders will be processed and sent as normal, although instead of sending orders every day, I'll be posting out twice a week in order to reduce the amount of time I'll be out. So if you do order anything, please allow an extra day or so for it to arrive. I have also registered for Royal Mail Click and Drop to reduce contact time at the Post Office. This applies to all orders at www.johilltextiles.com and also in my Etsy shop. My commissions book for handmade items is open year round too!

Workshops

In order to prioritise the health and well being of all customers and workshop attendees, and in line with government advice, I am postponing all workshops which are due to take place between now and the end of May 2020. I had only scheduled the programme up until the end of May anyway, but all those who have booked on will be invited to transfer to the same workshop which will take place later in the year, or next year. As we don't yet know when the restrictions will be lifted, it is difficult to give a firm date at this moment, however all customers who have booked and paid for a workshop will have their booking honoured subject to finding mutually suitable dates. I emailed all those who had booked on yesterday - if you didn't receive the email, please let me know!

Additionally, I will be in touch again with an update on the new workshop schedule when it is available, for all those interested in attending a workshop when it is viable to do so. Hopefully this will be at some point later this year. I will be putting on the ever-popular Flowers and Grasses workshop, plus Lampshade Making, Introduction to Appliqué, Garden Birds and Wading Birds plus many others. All ideas for new workshops are welcome and will be considered.

Workshop Gift Vouchers

If you have bought a workshop gift voucher from me, it will now be extended an extra year from when it expires. So for example, if it was due to expire at the end of December 2020, it will now be valid until the end of December 2021. Hopefully this will allow enough extra time for those that haven't used theirs yet to book on when the workshop programme is back up and running. You don't need to do anything for this to come into effect. Just enter the code on the voucher when you are ready to use it.

If you're planning some online shopping...

It seems a little audacious and slightly jarring to be showing you pictures of stuff you can buy in these times. However, shops and galleries have sadly closed for the time being and workshops are on hold, so online orders are my only source of income at the moment. If you are in a position to purchase something - no matter how big or small - each and every order would be so welcome.

If you're creative, this is a great time to catch up on all the projects you've been meaning to do! We have lots of kits, including sewing kits, free motion embroidery kits, fabric and no-sew kits, too.

Like most of us, you'll likely be spending a lot of time in your home these days! If you're thinking you'd like something new to look at, we have lots of homewares ranging from cushions to lampshades, coasters to cosmetic bags. Everything is made in the UK and designed in my studio.
