Wool backing fabric

This is a very expensive top quality woven wool, its about 1.5mm thick and looks felted.

It is a pale natural cream.

It takes dye very well,

it doesn't fray,

it will shrink a tiny bit if boiled.

Be aware if your machine doesn't like thick fabrics it may not like this one, but it is not a dense fabric, so it should be ok.

I use it for the background to my Kingfisher in the River birds course.

Also as an alternative background in the Hare course.

Also small wall hangings, it would be fine for making a cushion but expensive and probably good for bags but I have not made any with it.

I am selling them in small squares of 20cm x 20 for £4.50 if you are very careful this could make 9 brooches, 4 very easily,
