Storm Brewing

Inspired by the great British countryside and its wonderful colours, I have made this wall hanging using appliqué, free-motion embroidery and hand-dyed  painted and breakdown printed fabrics and cottons, wools and silk. 

It features a warm summers scene when storm clouds are brewing but before the rain comes with burnt oranges, pinks, greens, with appliqué and hand stitched trees. A dark blue sky and pinky/beige foreground bring out the beautiful subtle colours of the landscape. Hand-stitched birds flying over the landscape completes this handmade textile. Own a unique and one-of-a-kind Jo Hill original!

This wall hanging measures 40cm (width) x 40cm (height) The outside of the frame measures 56cm squared, it is unglazed but you could easily get your local framer to add glass if you wished.
