Semi Abstract mixed media textile artwork for hanging on the wall.
On an early morning walk through my village near the end of January the light was so beautiful, the sun was rising and casting a warm hopeful glow on Whitgreave. There was a sense of tranquillity, positivity and mystery. There were birds flying and Ash seed pods hanging from the trees, land and field contours. I felt positive, happy and glad to be alive and so lucky to be able to do what I love.
I came straight home and selected fabrics and papers of the same colours and which gave me the same feelings. I worked fairly quickly on the 4 works to capture the images of the walk before I forgot them. This technique requires the fabric bonding agent to dry over night so the rest of the day was spent sketching and mark making the scenery I noticed and the birds in flight.
Next morning I got straight into stitching onto the collaged fabrics and papers. I love to use thick cottons and wools, the new year is bringing a new zest for creativity, bravery and a determination to not hold back on my passion and work.
These 4 pieces are 30cm x 30cm they are mounted onto an off white mount board and can be purchased like this or framed in a white deep frame, they are glazed but if I am posting it out I will have to remove the glass, this can be added back in by your local picture framer very easily and cheaply.
