This is the ultimate beginner's free motion embroidery kit! If you want to learn how to use your sewing machine to draw with and create beautiful textile designs, this is the perfect kit to start your journey into free motion embroidery.
This kit will develop your technique as well as your design skills, and your hard work will reward you with a lovely cushion. The fabric is printed with Jo's unique design, and you add your own stitching to complete the cushion in any way you like. We encourage you to get the most out of your sewing machine and really use it to its full potential!
This kit gives you everything you need to create the cushion including the printed front panel, the fabric for the back of the cushion plus a zip. The instructions guide you through every stage of making the cushion, and you'll also receive Jo's detailed tips on getting started with free motion embroidery. The pack also includes a detailed photograph of the finished design so you can be inspired by Jo's technique. The finished cushion measures 33cm x 33cm (14” x 14”).
Jo's design acts as a template and excellent starting point for you to add your own embellishments and practise the exciting art of free motion embroidery. You will also learn the professional way of inserting a zip to perfectly finish off your cushion. This is the ideal introduction to free motion embroidery and you will also have something lovely for your home too!
Free motion embroidery is an exciting technique where you lower the feed dogs on your sewing machine and move the fabric around under the needle in any direction. You do not need a specialist needle or thread, but you do need an embroidery foot (also known as a darning foot). Free motion embroidery is also known by several other names including free machine embroidery, free hand sewing, thread painting, free motion stitching and free motion sewing.
