Avocet

This little Avocet was inspired by a visit to the wetland and wildfowl trust in Arundel. I loved the Avocet enclosure where you can get up close to these delicate and beautiful birds.

I have collaged a background of fabrics and silk, the circle fabric was hand printed. The bird has been appliquéd, it was finished with free motion embroidery stitching. The thicker orange threads were wound onto the bobbin and stitched from the reverse of the work to create the texture.

The work is stitched onto an off white mount board ready for you to frame.

The embroidery measures 15cm x 22cm. 

The mount board is A4 and will fit into a standard sized frame.
