This unique, handmade chair features a beautiful white tern on its nest. The chair cover is a one-of-a-kind, original Jo Hill textile that I have custom-made for this chair. I have created it using hand-dyed fabrics and stitched it in my distinctive style of appliqué and free motion embroidery.
The back of the chair is not only a comfortable back-rest but also features another tern, flying in to the nest, providing a lovely aspect of continuity with the seat cover.
Beautiful pink fabric and wool complement the teal, taupe and turquoise of the backing fabrics. The colours evoke sunny spring days and this chair will add striking colour to your home. This chair took several days to make - from stripping down the original seat cover to putting together the finished design.
The wood on this vintage chair is painted in teal green Annie Sloan chalk paint which has then been distressed, then waxed to seal the paint. My signature colour palette echoes the magnificent range of colours found in nature, and it was important that I chose a paint colour for the frame to really complement the natural colours of the textile design.
Many people say they are 'too nice to sit on' (which is lovely!) but they are actually really hard-wearing and are stitched to last! I find that customers want a 'wow' piece for their homes that becomes a talking point and a joy to see and use every day.
Own a unique piece of art that's not only beautiful, but practical, too!
It would be best to collect this chair from my studio, just outside of Stafford (ten minutes from J14 of the M6), so therefore I have marked the delivery as 'free'. However, if you are not able to collect then you are welcome to arrange your own courier. Please get in touch on firstname.lastname@example.org with the details. I estimate the delivery costs to be about £25-£30 but you may find a cheaper deal. The parcel dimensions will be 75cm x 130cm x 75cm and the weight will be no more than 8kg.
